You don’t need to be a BDC member to audition but we ask everyone who is cast to become a member. You can now sign up as a member through Membership Mojo by clicking the button below.

This will automatically sign you up to our mailing list and give you exclusive access to discount codes for shows and workshops.

Membership lasts a year so if you get cast in another show you won’t need to pay for your membership again.

Radio Play in a Day

17th January 2027 1.30pm at The Place Theatre

Come along and get involved in a Radio Play in a Day!

We’ll start with a fun warm-up before splitting into groups to read through and practise performing sections of the radio plays. Each group will then perform their piece for the other participants and the directors.

The directors will use these performances to decide which actors would suit each part in their plays and assign the roles.

Once the casts have been decided, everyone will come together to rehearse their plays throughout the day on 24th January, ready to perform them that evening at 7.30pm.

And don’t worry about learning lines — the performances will be script in hand, so you can concentrate on bringing your character and the story to life!

Whether you’re new to theatre, returning after a long break, or a seasoned actor looking for a new challenge, this is a great opportunity to get involved, meet other performers and have some fun.

As this is such a short rehearsal period you don’t need to pay a show fee just become a BDC member (if you aren’t already). Membership is £10 full price and £5 for concessions

Come along, give it a go, and see what you can create in just one day!
